The Sinhgad College of Architecture (SCOA) came to life in the year 2000-2001 for nurturing the creative skills of talented students. To set their minds free and imagination soaring, the course is conducted in the picturesque locale of a hilltop. Experienced and expert faculty members, comprehensive syllabus and extensive facilities add tremendous value in enhancing the students' knowledge and creative flair. Affiliations:
The Sinhgad College of Architecture is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education/Council of Architecture. Also, it is affiliated to the University/COA of Pune. All the norms prescribed by the University are strictly adhered to joint efforts are made continuously to improve the standard of education.
Teaching Methodology:
Architecture is a part of the overall culture and cannot exist in a vacuum. In order to develop the budding architects on excellent lines, it is therefore necessary to go BEYOND THECLASSROOM and give wider exposure. With this objective in mind, extra classes, guest lectures, site visits study tours and workshops are arranged for the students in addition to the regular college hours. Placement Cell
Sinhgad College of Architecture has always focused on co-curricular activities, site-visits and workshops. We believe that theoretical knowledge imparted during the five years of the Degree in Architecture needs to be coupled with practical know-how when the student reaches the threshold of his/her professional career. We would like to see each student to be able to face real life challenges and become a success story in his/her own right.
The primary activity of the Placement renowned Cell will be to facilitate students to be placed with well established Architects. For this purpose, a database of the prospective employers and the passing students will be continuously maintained.
The backbone of the Placement Cell will be the Alumni Association of SCOA. It will be this network of alumni, which will serve as the foundation and guiding light for fresh Architects. The following are hereby nominated as committee members of the Placement Cell.
Admission
ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR B.ARCH. AND B.ARCH.(I.D)
Admission Procedure is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra/ Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architecture/ College (for management quota).
Total 80 (40+40) students. All seats will be filled through an aptitude test conducted by Council of Architecture and central admission process by MASA. The first round of admission will be centralised, through a the state level competent authority (MASA). The vacancies if any, will be filled in by the college thereafter. A super numeric quota of 15% (6 seats) over and above the regular intake is reserved for persons of Indian Origins (PIO) and foreign students. No candidate will be admitted to the B. Arch course unless he/she has appeared and qualified in an aptitude test (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.
A merit list of qualified candidates will be made considering 50% marks of HSC aggregate and 50% marks of the Aptitude Test.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR M. Arch. (Computer Application) & M. Arch. (Architectural Conservation)
Candidate should have passed Bachelor's Examination in Architecture with minimum 50%.
The candidates with valid GATE score will be given preference and the candidates without valid GATE score shall be considered subject to the vacancy.
Candidates should submit their Biodata, SOP (Statement Of Purpose) and necessary attested documents with the Application form. Short listed candidates will be called for personal interview later.
