Placement
Placement Cell is an integral part of the University. It has enough infrastructure for its effective functioning. The various activities, which are being undertaken regularly are - placement of the students, entrepreneurship awareness & development programmes, Invited lectures from the persons from industry & other institutions, personality development programmes etc.
Placement activities also include interacting with different companies/organisations for placement of the students, announcement of employment opportunities & also providing all the facilities to conduct campus interviews etc.
Leading companies which conduct regularly the Campus Recruitment are Reliance Industries-Jamnagar, Reliance Infocom, TCS - Mumbai, Patni-Gandhinagar, GNFC-Bharuch, NCPL-Bharuch, MBT-Mumbai, Atul Ltd.- Valsad, Saurashtra Chemicals-Porbandar; Tata Chemicals- Mithapur, Gharada Chemicals-Bharuch, Hutch-Ahmedabad, Kothari Infotech-Surat, L&T Infotech, Microlink-Ahmedabad, IRIL, DSCL, GHCL etc.
Admission
Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.)
Admission to B.E. programmes is based on Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSCE-Science stream) score and is governed centrally for all engineering institutes of the state. Eligibility conditions are as per Government of Gujarat rules. The details of admission rules and procedure along with application form are usually available immediately after HSCE result. Certain seats for admission to first year of U.G. are earmarked for Government of India nominees. Seats are available in grant-in aid as well as self-finance category.
Master of Engineering (M. E)
Admissions to M. E. courses are based on merit obtained in the written examination conducted by the Institute. Application for admission is invited through advertisements in leading newspapers in May every year. B.E/B.Tech /equivalent with 55% (50% for SC/ST) or equivalent grade in appropriate/respective branch. Seats are also available for sponsored candidates from Industry/academic and research Institutes.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Based on the academic record and performance in the interview/test, the guide will recommend the name of the candidate to the Institute for admission to the PhD programme. Candidates whose selection is approved by the Vice Chancellor will be admitted to the programme. Eligibility for PhD admissions is as under. 1. (a) (a) PhD in Engineering: Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a discipline related to the research proposal with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from a recognized university. Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology with exceptionally good academic background in a discipline related to the research proposal will also considered for direct admission to PhD in Engineering provided if the candidate is having 2 years of experience as a full time teacher in a recognized engineering college/polytechnic or of R&D work in a related discipline in a professional organization and also to have outstanding and well recognized research work in the related discipline.
1. (b) (b) PhD in Applied Science: Masters degree in Physical/Social Science related with the research proposal with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from a recognized university/Institute; or eligible for lecturers appointment as per UGC rule.
1. (c) (c) PhD in Management: Postgraduate (full-time) degree or diploma in Management with first class or minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 out of 10) or equivalent from a university/Institute recognized by UGC/AICTE.
Bachelor of Computer Applications (B. C. A)
Candidate for admission to the Bachelor of Computer Application course must have passed H.S.C. Examination with at least 45% (40 for reserved category) marks excluding practicals. The candidate must have passed the HSC examination with English and any one of the following subjects under General or Science stream. i.e. Mathematics or Statistics or Business mathematics or Accountancy/Elements of accounting or Accountancy & book keeping. The admission is made at Institute level based on the marks obtained in HSC examination. All the seats are available under self-financed category. Admission to management quota under self-financed category is done as per the prevailing norms
Master of Computer Applications (M. C. A)
M.C.A. admission is based on centralized entrance test conducted at state level. Degree in science or commerce or management or engineering under (10+2+3) pattern or equivalent with at least second-class having obtained not less than 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST) at aggregate of a recognized University is the minimum eligibility for admissions. The candidate must have studied mathematics or statistics or business mathematics as one of the subject at HSCE level. Seats are available in grant-in aid as well as self-finance category. Admission to management quota under self-financed category is done as per the prevailing norms.
BE + MBA (Integrated Course)
Students admitted to first year B.E. Programme to DDIT are eligible for consideration of admission to BE+MBA programme. Admission is based on written test, group discussion and interview.
Diploma in Chemical Engineering: Admission to Diploma programme in chemical Engineering is based on SSC examination score and is governed centrally for all engineering/polytechnic institutes of the state. The details of admission rules and procedure along with application form are usually available immediately after SSCE result. All the seats are available in grant-in aid category
