The Nagrik Shikshan Sanstha was founded in 1963, by Late Shri. Yashwantrao Chavan, the Ex-Deputy Prime Minister of India, and Hon'ble Shri. Sharadchandraji Pawar, the Union Agriculture Minister and Late Shri. Rajabhau Mirashi was the Chairman of the Institution and Dr. Jaydeep Mirashi, is present Chairman & Mr. C.N.Kashalkar ,is the General Secretary of the Institute, carrying institution with the sole motto of imparting Primary and Secondary education for the poorer, economically backward and socially marginalized sections of the community.

The N.S.S. College of Commerce and Economics was started by the Institution in the year 1988. The college is permanently affiliated to University of Mumbai and NAAC accredited.

The college aims at catering value education and personality development of the students, turning them into national asset and inculcating in them principles of unity and national integration. All effort are made to create congenial atmosphere and best possible Facilities for their educational needs.

DEGREE COLLEGE :

The college conduct examinations on behalf of the University of Mumbai for F.Y.B.Com. & S.Y.B.Com. Class. The University of Mumbai conducts examinations for T.Y.B.Com students. The college examination is divided into two phases first Semester and Second Semester each of 50 marks, 2 hours duration, students has to get combined marks will decide their promotion to the next class.
