Communication and media studies are one of the main subjects coming under ARTS. For the study of the science and technology of the transmission and reception of information and the different forms of transmission of information, such as broadcasting (digital broadcasting, radio and television), advertising and journalism. Each resource has been evaluated and categorized by subject specialists based at UK universities.
The different streams under the media studies are: Advertising, Animation and Cartooning, Broadcasting, Film, Journalism, New Media, Printing and Publishing.

Hi Sirju, in the media studies i feel animation is having more scope, i think i am correct. Any how tell me regarding the colleges which provide animation courses and what is the eligiblity to take the courses.

Colleges:
There are various courses on animation and cartoons offered in colleges all over the country. The major colleges are:
1. National Institute of Design (NID, Ahmedabad)
2. J.J School of Arts
3. Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA)
4. Industrial Design Center (IDC), IIT - Mumbai & Guwahati
5. Academy of Animation and Gaming.

Qualification: For applying for a diploma course in animation, one has to pass the 12th standard examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks. For the bachelor's degree program the same eligibility criterion is applicable, while for the PG program one must have a bachelor's degree.
