JIPMER conducts entrance examination on all India basis and only merit in the Entrance Examination is the criterion for selection to 82 seats (including 26 reserved for locals).
Government of India nominees are selected by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi according to set criterion. Please refer to Annexure II of Prospectus for details. |

Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry/Puduchery, conducts an all-India entrance test (JIPMER-MBBS) for admission into the first year of MBBS course.
Usually, JIPMER admits 75 students to the MBBS courses each year.
The major course offered is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Postgraduate and super speciality courses like M.D., M.S. and Diploma, M.Sc. in Medical Biochemistry, Ph.D (full time), M.Ch. in Cardio thoracic surgery and M.Ch in Urology are also offered. |
