What is Engineering?
Submitted by Arjun on 29/05/2009 - 02:03 PM
Engineering is an incredibly broad field which involves the harnessing of mathematical and scientific concepts to create practical and useful things, ranging from automobiles to wind turbines. This field is huge, encompassing people in a wide range of industries, and some people call it “the invisible science,” because engineers are often unsung and unheralded, despite the fact that the work they do is very important.

The person who practice engineering is called engineer and those licensed to do so may have more formal designations such as European Engineer, Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or Incorporated Engineer.

Engineering, the most sought-after course in India.
Submitted by on 13/03/2018 - 06:58 PM Reply
In India, Engineering is one of the most sought-after courses to take admission in. Engineering as we know, is a branch of science and technology that is concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machine, and structures. Engineering is the application of scientific knowledge and mathematical methods to practical purposes.

To get into engineering, the candidate has to crack two main entrance examinations with a high score. Engineering being the most preferred course admits students on the basis of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main), previously known as AIEEE and JEE Advanced, previously known as IIT JEE.

Two Gateways to get into Engineering -
  • Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) is conducted by CBSE for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is a three-hour duration exam that consists of Drawing aptitude and Objective type questions.
  • Joint Entrance Exam - Advanced (JEE Advanced) is an annual exam that is conducted for admission to Undergraduate, Integrated Master's and Dual degree programs in Engineering, science or architecture in all IITs. JEE Advanced consists of two papers, paper 1 and paper 2. Both the papers are further divided into three sections viz, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
To get through the entrance exams, the candidates need to follow the stated steps -
  1. To qualify the entrance exam, students must go through JEE Main study materials such as notes, video lectures, formulas, reactions, equation and previous/ subsequent year question/ sample papers.
  2. To enhance your skills, you can solve Free sample papers and Mock tests of 2018.
  3. Candidates can also go through JEE Main paper analysis to get a clear idea about the format and structure of the exam.
  4. The applicant must solve JEE level questions to increase their speed of solving problems using time management techniques.

Aeronautical is the stream of Aerospace engineering.Basically Aerospace engineering deals with construction, design, and all other application of science. This is a very good  branch of engineering but there are very less Engineering Colleges in India who provided the degree in this Field. This field mainly covers the  behaviors and characteristics of aerodynamic field. It also deals with control surfaces, drag, and many other properties.
