Green Cards for Students Pursuing MS in USA

In order to study in the USA, international students must often obtain a green card, which allows them to be in the country legally while earning their degree.  Many students are put off by the complicated application process and expense of obtaining a green card, but the process can be fairly simple if you have the right tools at your disposal.

Students can obtain a green card if they have a job sponsorship.  If you finished college in your native country, you may be able to get a job and your company may provide you with a green card.  They are likely to cover costs and help to walk you through the application process if they need your skills while you are earning your graduate degree.

Some students obtain a green card from being granted asylum while in the USA.  If your native country is in the middle of a situation that could risk your life should you return home, you can apply for an asylum exception and you may be given a green card that allows you to finish your studies.

If you are married while you are studying in the USA, you are given a green card.  You must marry a US citizen or resident in order for your spouse to be your green card sponsor.  Although it may seem tempting, it is necessary for you to enter into a real marriage rather than a fake one for green card purposes.

For aspiring business management students who wish to take up challenging managerial roles in global conglomerates should aim at cracking the GMAT. The Graduate Management Admission Test is a standardized exam that has been structured with the view to test the eligibility of candidates for taking up MBA (Masters in Business Administration). The exam papers are designed to assess the manner in which the candidates sitting for it will perform academically in business management programs. Graduate business schools use the GMAT scores to find out whether a candidate is eligible to be admitted in their institution.

The GMAT is also referred to as the CAT (Computer Adaptive Test). Different test sections of the exam seeks to gauge a candidate’s three major abilities broadly- analytical writing power, quantitative capability and verbal reasoning skill. Application to the GMAT test can be done by getting details about the procedures from the “GMAT Information Bulletin” available free with Prometric Testing Services. Students taking the exam can register either by giving a call, sending a fax or by mailing their forms or drafts. All the documents have to be sent three weeks prior to sitting for the GMAT exam. An appointment is set up for the candidate to take the competitive exam at the Prometric Center upon the receipt of the documents.

Getting good GMAT scores can brighten the chances of a student in getting admission into top B-schools Universities in USA. However, good preparation schedule is required to help a candidate crack the GMAT. Adopting the right approach is the most important thing in clearing the exam. A strong determination, good planning and discipline can help one face the challenges that come with passing the exams. Regular practice and expert guidance can work best to increase the test scores in the competitive exam report. - Read More

Know All About Scholarships To Ease Your Financial Troubles for A Foreign Degree
Submitted by yogita shewale on 17/10/2013 - 02:28 PM Reply
Indian students aspiring to go abroad for higher education can prepare for getting a scholarship.  Educational institutions provide a financial assistance award to students to help them further their education without worrying about finances. The norms for awarding this financial help for access to foreign college or university differ from country to country. Understanding the criteria for awarding scholarship in a chosen educational institution will help students increase their chances of getting one.

Foreign educational institutions require students to submit a separate application for scholarship along with the application for admission. As Uddhav Kambli, counselor with an education consultancy helping Indian students to get admission in foreign colleges, says, “Students can enroll in different scholarship programs offered by their chosen foreign universities after meeting the eligibility requirements. Indian scholarship granting agencies can also be approached to secure financial award that can meet your study abroad tuition fees, living expenses and traveling costs.”

There are different parameters used by different universities to offer financial support for easy access to foreign studies. Scholarships are mostly awarded on the basis of merit of the student applicant. Any achievement in the field of academics, sports, artistic or any other domain can help an Indian student win financial award. “Merit-based scholarships are given out with the objective to largely encourage a deserving student and also to popularize the study of a particular subject.”
